LB Steak in City Center Bishop Ranch carves out a solid place in San Ramon for those who appreciate classic American steakhouse fare with a refined, yet approachable, atmosphere. Nestled in a busy shopping complex, it draws in local professionals gathering after work and groups celebrating special occasions over hearty meals and wine.

The dining experience here leans toward upscale but not overly formal, offering a balance that works both for business dinners and weekend brunches. The interior hums with the energy of office parties and family gatherings but generally stays comfortable rather than stuffy. It’s a spot where you can settle in for a leisurely steak dinner or swing by for a brunch featuring thoughtful takes on all-day American staples.

Steak selections stand out, anchored by crowd-pleasers like the Tomahawk Rib Eye for Two and Filet Mignon, as well as unique highlights such as the Japanese Wagyu and lb Signature Steak. For those less focused on red meat, options like pan-roasted foraged mushrooms and whole branzino provide satisfying alternatives. Sides and starters help round out the meal, with dishes like truffle sautéed mushrooms often drawing positive attention. The raw oysters on the half shell offer a fresh contrast to the hearty mains, making for a well-rounded menu.

Brunch at LB Steak offers a slightly different vibe—quieter and more relaxed—with items like Steak and Eggs Your Way and Crab Cake Benedict giving it a hearty but accessible feel. The availability of bottomless mimosas and well-crafted cocktails such as the Barrel Aged Vanilla Bean Old Fashioned adds a brunch-day indulgence without feeling touristy.

Service here tends to be accommodating, particularly if you come with a reservation, which is wise during busier evenings. Staff manage to juggle group dinners and quieter lunches with a steady flow, creating a comfortable pace that suits the mix of social and casual dining. The ability to honor reservations and the overall attentiveness adds to the experience.

LB Steak fits those looking for more than just a steak joint—it’s a place with refined touches that still keeps a straightforward appeal. Ideal for locals who want a dependable spot to mark celebrations, enjoy a decent happy hour, or indulge in a solid brunch during a quieter weekday. The location within City Center Bishop Ranch means parking and accessibility are convenient, making it a practical choice for East Bay residents and workers nearby.

Had dinner recently and would definitely revisit. As as a group, for appetizers, we had, Steak Tartare (Very good), Crispy Calamari (OK). Main course was Boneless Ribeye (Excellent), Dry Aged Ribeye (Excellent) and sides were Sauteed Spinach (OK), Grilled Asparagus (OK) and Truffle Sauteed Mushrooms (Awesome). All in all, the place has some really nice vibes. Lots of office parties and special occasions. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Do try the Rye Manhattan cocktail. Very delightful.

We ordered fried calamari, pork belly, caesar salad and bread basket with wagyu butter for appetizer. Very good quality especially the pork belly - it's tender and full of flavor. I do wish the calamari came with more sauce. The wagyu better is more like gimmick as I couldn't tell much difference between it and the european butter. As for the steak we ordered a regular ribeye steak and cowboy steak. Both are top quality in both the cut and cooking - tender, full of flavor without any chewy tendor. I do think that pepper and salt taste better than the four sauces came with the steak.

My favorite thing to get at this steak house is a shrimp and crab cobb. LOL. Yup, a salad. It's ridiculously good and a good value during lunch. In fact, we've had most of the lunch time favorites and think they are all delicious and a good value. We only come during dinner for special occasions. It's never that busy here at lunch, which is surprising, but that leaves a quieter atmosphere for me to enjoy. The staff are always professional and nice. Good place, good eats.

Have heard a lot about the LB steak house so finally wanted to try their steak out. First off! If you are going to dine in here definitely make a reservation. Unlike other steak house they honored our reservation and gave us a table right away despite the place being busy. We ordered a Tomahawk Steak and bone marrow. The bone marrow was fine but the Tomahawk Steak was worth the 25 minute wait. If you are party of two I highly recommend T-Steak.

Had reservations but showed up a bit late. Not an issue since they weren't busy. Two of us ordered a ton: pierre sparr cremat brut Reserve, NV $14 sequoia grove, cabernet sauvignon Napa Valley, CA $25 charred spanish octopus $25, good caesar salad $16, split plates already tomahawk rib eye for two $149 creamed spinach $16, more like boiled spinach, which wasn't expected but was still a nice change compared to all the heavy food truffle fries $14, ok brussel sprouts $16 diet pepsi $5 Sides, overall, were a bit of a miss, could have gone without them. 4% living wage surcharge added to bill. Mike was a great server. Parking relatively easy to find.
